A representative from an Australian waterworks company came to test a new top-secret tapping product.
Central Alabama Water welcomed Kris Powell, a representative from Australian waterworks company Philmac, to test a new, top-secret tapping product. This visit occurred on October 9, 2025.
Philmac specifically chose Central Alabama Water for this demonstration, thanks to the strong reputation of our distribution and tapping departments. Our team is known for its skill, and precision throughout the water industry. Central Alabama Water sets the standard, and now that reputation is going global because of the visit from our friends from down under.
The distribution and tapping departments, and a member of the award-winning pipe tapping team demonstrated the installation of the new product, which remains confidential for now. Their performance didn’t disappoint, showing why Central Alabama Water continues to earn respect both nationally and internationally.
“We heard that your guys are the best in the United States, and we wanted to see how it’s done firsthand,” said Kris Powell, Philmac Australia. “It was a long trip from Australia, but very worth it.”
Our pipe tapping team is best known for winning 18 national titles and recently secured second place at the 2025 national competition at the AWWA Conference in Denver. The spotlight during this visit was on the distribution and tapping departments. Their work behind the scenes keeps operations running smoothly and positions Central Alabama Water as a leader in the industry.
